Meet Your Ohio Tax Resolution Specialist Team
You Shouldn't Have to
Figure Out the IRS Alone
Meet the team built around 15 years
of IRS experience, now working for you.
You can pay down your tax debt on your own terms
I understand how scary it is when you receive a letter from the IRS. Or worse, they show up on your doorstep.
I’m Justin Costello, a Certified Tax Resolution Specialist and the founder of Costello Tax Resolution. Before starting this firm, I spent 15 years as an IRS Revenue Officer. I know how enforcement decisions get made, what triggers escalation, and what it actually takes to move a case toward resolution.
I personally review every case, set the strategy, and stay involved through resolution. When you work with my team, you get the full attention of someone who has handled over 500 cases.
Here’s Who Stands Between You and the IRS
Justin Costello
Owner and Founder
Justin started his career at the IRS right out of college. He spent 15 years as an IRS Revenue Officer, reviewing cases, making enforcement decisions, and learning exactly how the IRS thinks. In January 2021, he left to start Costello Tax Resolution and has handled over 500 cases since.
Every case that comes into this firm goes through Justin. He conducts the consultation, analyzes the facts, sets the strategy, and determines the fee. Nothing moves forward without his direct involvement.
Outside the office, Justin has a wife and two daughters, is a reader and a learner who is always chasing the next interesting subject. He’ll tell you the challenge is what he loves most about this work: analyzing a case, stopping enforcement, and negotiating a resolution that holds.
Jacob Blevins
Enrolled Agent
Jacob is an Enrolled Agent, which means he is federally licensed to represent clients before the IRS. He and Justin work cases together. Justin sets the strategy and stays involved, and Jake handles a significant portion of the representation work, including regular communication with the IRS.
Jacob will tell you the IRS isn’t angry with you. They aren’t weighing your character or your intentions. They’re looking at your financial ability to pay and whether you’ve followed the tax law. That perspective matters, because it takes the emotion out of the process and keeps the focus on what actually gets results.
Outside the office, Jacob is someone who genuinely loves this work. He cares about the people he represents and takes seriously the fact that his work has real consequences for real families. Jacob will be the first to admit he can talk a lot, but that’s because he believes the more you understand about your case, the better the outcome.
Kristin Artrip
Office Manager
Kristin is the first person you’ll talk to at Costello Tax Resolution. She handles intake, scheduling, and client communication, which means she’s the one who makes sure the process runs smoothly from your very first call to the day your case closes.
If you’ve ever called a professional services firm and felt like you were talking to a system instead of a person, Kristin is the antidote to that. She’s easy to talk to, genuinely interested in the people she works with, and committed to keeping communication clear on both ends. Her job is to make sure nothing falls through the cracks.
Outside the office, Kristin is a cook, a farmer, and a sideline mom cheering on four kids. Someone who keeps that many moving pieces from falling apart is exactly who you want keeping your case organized and moving forward.
